Nicole L. McGuire

Family Law

Attorney Nicole L. McGuire’s practice focuses on all aspects of family law, with a particular emphasis on serving high net-worth individuals, business owners, and entrepreneurs. Nicole brings a rare depth of financial and legal expertise to her family law clients, drawing on a distinguished background in taxation, estate planning, and corporate transactions to help them navigate some of the most consequential moments of their lives. Nicole handles matters from start to finish — whether through thoughtful negotiation and settlement or skilled courtroom advocacy — and is committed to guiding clients through complex and emotionally challenging circumstances with both rigor and compassion.

Nicole’s family law practice encompasses the full range of dissolution and related matters, with a particular emphasis on cases involving high-conflict litigation and complicated financial issues including multi-layered business structures, sophisticated compensation packages, and advanced estate planning. She also has extensive experience drafting, reviewing, and advising clients on premarital, postnuptial, and cohabitation agreements, and approaches each agreement as an opportunity to protect her clients’ interests while being mindful of the importance of preserving their relationships and minimizing conflict. Nicole is also a Certified Family Law Specialist candidate, having passed the specialist examination in October 2023 — a testament to her dedication to excellence in this area of the law.

Before transitioning to family law, Nicole built a robust foundation in taxation and estate planning, advising individuals and families on income, estate, and gift tax matters, business succession, and family office issues. She also gained meaningful experience in mergers and acquisitions tax work, including domestic and cross-border transactions for corporate clients. This multidisciplinary background gives Nicole a unique lens through which she analyzes each client’s financial picture, allowing her to advocate strategically and effectively for outcomes that best serve clients based on their unique circumstances and goals.

Nicole earned her Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2013 — graduating in the top 25% of her class with a Corporate Law Concentration with Honors — and her Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University in 2014. Prior to that, in 2010, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida. She is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Outside of the office, Nicole enjoys playing soccer and tennis, hiking with her dog, paddleboarding, and traveling.
